Wachusett Earthday Collections- May 1st and 15th
UPCOMING REGIONAL RECYCLING CENTER COLLECTIONS
HOUSEHOLD PAINTS & CHEMICALS - MAY 1, 2010 (SATURDAY)
BULK ITEMS – MAY 15, 2010 (SATURDAY)
Two regional collections will be held in May at the Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center at 131 Raymond Huntington Highway, West Boylston. On May 1 only paint and chemicals will be collected for a fee. On May 15 only appliances, electronics and other bulk items will be collected for a fee. Wachusett Earthday, the Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Towns of Boylston, Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, Sterling and West Boylston are partners in offering the collection for residents of seven Wachusett towns .
Only household paints and chemicals will be collected on Saturday, May 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. The fee will be $4 per gallon and $2 per pound for household hazardous products such as paints, pesticides, cleaners, pool chemicals. Check your Town web site for details.
Only bulk items will be collected on Saturday, May 15 from 8 a.m. to noon. The bulk items which will be accepted on May 15 for a fee are all computers and computer parts ($3 per monitor), all TVs ($10 each), large appliances and metal machines including washers, dryers, stoves, hot water heaters and snow blowers, swing sets or other scrap metal ($5 each), small appliances ($2/each) items with refrigerants such as refrigerators, dehumidifiers, freezers or air conditioners ($15 each), furniture ($5 each), sleeper couches ($10 each), small quantities of household project debris such as wood, bricks, concrete, wallboard is ($30/cubic yard), car tires ($2 per tire with or without rims), truck tires ($10), larger equipment tires $40-$80 each), propane tanks ($4 per 20 pound or smaller tank, $40 per larger tank). We will collect mercury themometers and other mercury items, flourescent tubes and all batteries sorted by type for no fee.
